Alexandra Reis
Alexandra is Associate Professor at the UAlg and a Senior Research at CBMR. AR has an H-index of 19 & has published 59 peer-reviewed papers in the international scientific literature which have been cited more than 1700 times (www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=7202574376). Her research is focused on cognitive neuroscience & the implications of literacy/illiteracy on the human brain, language processing, reading development & reading disorders. She has worked with all state-of-art
methods in cognitive psychology, structural and functional neuroimaging, electrophysiology and eye-tracking. She conducted the first functional neuroimaging study on illiterate subjects & participated in pioneering orthographic depth & universal predictors of reading. Both highly cited studies. More recently, she has played a central role in five sponsored projects to develop research within the domain of
reading development, reading predictors and reading disorders both in children & adults.
