Patrícia Pinto
Patrícia Pinto is associate professor of data analysis (statistics and econometrics) and research methods at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve. She is the Director of the PhD programme in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management and an active member of the board of the PhD programme in Tourism in the same institution. She is also coordinator of the Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being (CinTurs) (FCT R&D unit rated with Very Good) since 2018. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business Organizations Management and a master degree in Economic and Business Sciences (branch of statistics) from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve. She completed her PhD in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management (statistics) at the University of Algarve in 2004. She got her "Agregação" in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management, from the University of Algarve in 2013, presenting a lesson in the topic “The use of Partial Least Squares Path Modeling in Tourism Research”.
As of 30 April 2020, Patrícia has published 88 articles in journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science. She is author or editor of 14 book chapters and 6 books and she received 8 awards. Patrícia co-supervised 14 doctoral theses and 26 master dissertations. She currently participates as a researcher in 2 funded projects and coordinates of the project RESTUR - Residents' attitudes and Behavior towards Sustainable Tourism Development in the Algarve (GRANT_NUMBER: SAICT-ALG / 39584/2018). In her professional activities, Patrícia interacted with 130 collaborators in co-authoring scientific works. Patrícia Pinto is reviewer of many international journals, including Current Issues in Tourism, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Destination Marketing & Management and Tourism Geographies. She is the editor in chief of Journal of Spatial and Organizational Dynamics. She has also taught short courses in the field of Data Analysis and Research Methods.
